Apparently people were filling gas cans and trying to sell the fuel for a profit online. According to local authorities, everything is fine. I filled up my vehicle the other day with no problems, but I hear of people being limited to 40/liters per fill up. Living in Russia, is like living in the twilight zone. Stranger than fiction!

The Ukraine war will no doubt be blamed, but it seems to me that poor Crimea is going to be an experimental "Smart City" - what they plan for the rest of us.
This is nothing compared to what the West, Africa, Asia and Australia is going to go through once their reserves run low - due to the closure of Hormuz.
Russia has a vast number of refineries so this is really a logistics problem. I am surprised they don't send diesel and petrol by ship to the various Crimean ports.
There are 382 refineries in all of Russia. More importantly, Russia exports plenty of oil, natural gas, fertiliser, grain and a plethora of products. Europe remains a major importer of these products from Russia.

Some people filled tankers and advertised the petrol for resale at a substantial markup. All of this is artificial. Meanwhile, behind the front line in Ukraine, Russian drones are demolishing a massive number of petrol stations. Tanker drivers are refusing to resupply front line units as they don't want to be targeted.

The current reality is that there is no shortage of gasolene or diesel in all of Russia except for Crimea. The propaganda effort of the West resulted in a 30% spike in demand for gasolene. No country can handle that. Now, this bubble is deflating of its own accord.
The refineries often shut down for repairs during the short summer season. Currently, they are going back online. Shortly, Russia will resume exporting diesel and gasolene.
