I suspect that the reason why the Kremlin is embracing the climate/carbon agenda is not to establish new forms of cooperations with the West, but it's because Russia is controlled by the same globalist masters who also control the West. With the exception of LGBT it's hard to find any policy where the Kremlin and the West differ.
It is indeed acknowledged by proponents of the BRICS coalition that it is a politically left-leaning project geared toward the objectives of global governance, with an emphasis on the Global South. In other words, it is Eastern (and Global South) centralization that is in direct competition with Western (and Global North) centralization.
In short, a multipolar world order (as proposed) based on expanding globalization through the extraction of minerals, in addition to fossil fuels, while incorporating and building out the infrastructure of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR), is a very similar model to the Western one.
The conclusion, therefore, is that the concept of “multipolarity” functions in the same way for globalization as the “green” and “clean” labels do for the energy transition.

Agreed fully, except that I think both are happening at the same time. While there is a convergence towards the same objective by all countries with the end goal as you stated, there is also natural and inevitable rivalry because of: mimetic rivalry and the Thucydides’ Trap.

But here's the funny part... When gas went up to 5 or 6 a gallon(from 3 before), I calculated how much more it would cost my coworkers with long 30 mile (48km) commutes in a typical average mid size car that gets 30mpg (7.9l/100km) using the 6 a gallon figure vs 3 a gallon before.
(30x2)x5= 300 miles per week. 300/30=10 gallons per week used for commute.
10x(6-3)= 30 dollars per week
30x4.33= 130 dollars per month.
They didn't realize that even a doubling of gas prices on a pretty long commute didn't really cost much more.
But these are the same people that thought rising housing and medical costs is a good thing cause it's good for wall street.
Oh and some of them are pretty smart with math but lack the ability to apply it to reality! 😂

In other words they might just be being adversarial. And the choice of Delingpole means they can repudiate him if there is a backlash.
When I looked at the chart showing the supposed cost of monthly utilities, I could not believe how absurdly inaccurate it was. The notion that people in London pay a meagre $322 per month for all those services is a joke; you can easily pay several times that amount. Heating bills alone will be higher than that.

Today war is either utter and total catastrophe like the annihilation of Gaza or the slow-simmering conquests. U.S.A. into Iraq...then Afghanistan. The slow infiltration of Syria by the U.S, Israel, Russia, ISIS, Turkey, Kurds et al. to the point of collapse. The infrequent but consistent bombing of Iran by Israel and the U.S. The rest of the Arab nations sitting on their asses. Moscow's glacier war on Ukraine--glacier because that's how it moves.
Frankly, I hope Europe continues with their Green Energy policy and the likes of Ursula and Claus have to leave Europe when they're sitting in the dark and cold and have no food to eat. Perhaps they'll confront justice elsewhere because the Europeans have shown themselves, largely, to be Quislings to their own native people. I don't know how else a government constitutes a police force willing to arrest someone for a social media post.
