Great read. Gotta love the contrast between the "RT International" and "RT Russian" - the international edition tries to be soft and balanced because they are scared of Ofcom fines and being closed down in the West, but the Russian version are extremely aggressive ultra-rabid attack dogs who are trying over the top hard to please their boss. It's quite insane really.

This Krasovsky doc just had me laughing out loud - a cross between Kiselyov's propaganda and the "Criminal Russia" cop show with some vintage USSR propaganda thrown in the mix as well. I think this guy takes himself way too seriously and actually believes he is a real journalist.

I started watching but couldn't last for more than 5 minutes. The comments are so heartwarming though.

The comments are amazing!

Interesting they have decided to use the term "enemies of the people" (враги народа) as it was used in USSR during the political repressions era of the 1930s similar to the period of repressions we have also observed after French revolution. Naming someone an "enemy of the people" in Russia, if also recognized in such role by the state, means that this person will be arrested, tried and possibly executed. Is that what is in store for the brave individuals they list in this video? Perhaps not now, but this is what creators of this video are alluding to. Scary, blood thirsty Simonyan.

Edward, how can i share on VK? I have no FB or Twitter.

I've done this but VK removed the photo. The post does not look in the least attractive

Wow! Edward, after reading your article I am going to watch the film. Otherwise I wouldn’t come close to any product created by Anton Krasovsky. The very look of this guy makes me sick in my stomach.

If you can't watch the whole thing, just read the YouTube comments. Many informative "reviews" can be found there!

Haha, no I will watch it now :) I am going to sacrifice my Friday night :)

Edward, in order for you to stay sane between watching RT’s masterpieces, may I humbly recommend you to read this book by Julius Ruechel. I started to read it in Russian translation yesterday as I couldn’t find a free English version online, but it is selling on Amazon. This is a gem!

At one time I watched RT UK. However after the "terrorist" attack on London's Westminster bridge and two RT reporters were seen hanging around enjoying the acting, I gave up. There Russian action does not surprise me at all. PS. Good blog and keep the positive information coming

Thanks for reading, Pat!

I always forget to mention this, but I really wonder if the obviously fake "Skripal Affair" was the test for all this nonsense.

"Stalinist claptrap"?! How would it be, first you give against United Russia, and now you even overtake them in ignorance and reactionary being? Catch up in studying history if you still have the time, and it's not too late; but seriously, not the garbage they brainwashed you with. There were BBC-, The Guardian-, CNN-, etc. claptrap and that you could have used, if you really wanted to. But, no, you have to come out with "Stalinist claptrap," what planet do you live on, to whom do you answer?

I don't feed the trolls!!!, nota bene, meaning trash goes to /dev/null. And I know history, unlike any trolls, as my reference is Annie Lacroix-Riz.

Edward Slavsquat's avatar

Pretty sure it's Stalinist by definition -- "враги народа" -- a popular term from the 1930s, as I understand it.

Roy Lanek's avatar

Stalinist... claptrap. Claptrap referred to whom, in which sense?

Mikhail Spiridonov's avatar

Edward is right on this. Vragi Naroda is a catchphrase from that period. Other than this, I take strong exception to anyone villainaising Stalin and his era.

*Reformist* is the more fashionable way today to obfuscate and denote them, reformist in the sense of a czarist-like superstructure reloaded.
