Today I was watching MSNBC "Morning Joe" where lo and behold who should appear but Steven Ratter the $188 million dollar man who flashes financial charts and tries to tell you not to believe your lying eyes, or should I say bank account. The point of his appearance is to tell viewers that inflation is low and that's thanks to Mr. Creepy.

I guess "Stevie boy" hasn't been to the Supermarket lately, or paid utility bills, or any number of insurance premiums-- all of which have become considerably more expensive over the last two years. But Stevie, would'nt be bothered by any of this as his job is to spread truckloads of bullshit.

That being said, what I really found disconcerting was a recent article by

Sy Hersch where he points out that Russia is literally giving free gas (on credit) to Turkey whose flat broke and in no position to pay the debt back. And then to show his gratefulness Erdoğan is sending drones to Urkaine. 🤨

Meanwhile, all the usual creepos are becoming filthy rich while hundreds of thousands of young Russian and Ukrainian men are being slaughtered.

Just another reassurance that the entire planet is a shithole.😒

Thanks, Riley. This doesn't look good for Russia. I suspect that the income inequality may be a bigger threat to the government than (allegedly) 9 million people living in poverty.

PS Glad you're enjoying Moravia. You should try local wines too, some of them are excellent.

I am 100% anti American and yet I tell you that the income inequality in Russia is obscene.

As Nikolai Chernyshevsky asked in his novel: WHAT IS TO BE DONE?

I think the answer is GENERAL STRIKES. Not phony general strikes like France has had in recent years, but real ones.

The big secret is that poverty is intentionally maintained by the owners and rulers of the world. With the technology that exists today, ABUNDANCE for the entire world population could be created in a very short period of time. If everybody were materially well off, the assholes at the top would no longer feel special. The reason these stunted childish nobodies maintain poverty is they want to feel special.

Incidentally, WAR is the main way they maintain poverty.

Thanks again, Riley. The show goes on, the power blocs supposedly clash (and they do have big conflicting interests) and the media totally focus on this aspect, while ignoring the continuing and indeed growing cooperation and coordination between them via forums such as the recent WEF "Summer Davos" in Tianjin, China. Jesse Zurawell did a great solo show about it yesterday.

Perspective with Jesse Zurawell - 12 July 2023, 56 minutes.

My comments. The meeting, whose official title is The Meeting of the New Champions, 2023,” is discussed in the WEF page

https://uplink.weforum.org/uplink/s/events/uplink-at-amnc23

Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2023, 27-29 June 2023, Tianjin, People's Republic of China.

The program and participants are discussed. Opening remarks were delivered by China’s prime minister Li Qiang. Zurawell noted how the media focus on tensions between the global power blocs, while events like this one which demonstrate a hie degree of cooperating are happening. The development of a digital public infrastructure is deemed highly important. Li Qiang met with the WTO director general, see China’s Foreign Ministry’s web page for a description of the meeting. Zurawell also discussed one of the groups involved, Ant Group of Alibaba Corp. interesting choice of metaphor, ant, as in “ant computer: and hive mind.

After the break, Zurawell discussed sessions at the meeting. These included "The Future of Money," (Blockchain technology, NOT just CBDC. Another was “China’s Economy, the Big Rebound,” which involved the head of the Eurasia Group, Clifford Kupchan, whose brother Charles is with the Council on Foreign Relations, which recently authored a call for the G20 to replace the G7. Zurawell discussed the Bali Declaration of November 2022, one wonders how many forgot what it stated re Biomedical and 4IR technology.

Russians are fortunate that their daily diet contains buckwheat, which is cheap, tasty, and a source of complete protein. In Russia, there are 47 cases of tuberculosis per 100,000. Tuberculosis is associated with poverty and protein deficiency. (All EU countries have fewer than 10 cases of TB per 100,000.) But that is a decline, as in 2008 the number of cases of TB was 83. The problem is exacerbated by the lack of medications for drug-resistant TB. I wish the oligarchs would stop buying yachts and sports clubs and invest in the Russian industry.

In these trying times one can only recommend to Putin to arrange a series of distractions, gaining time to think how to get Russia out of this multi-layered, if not multi-polar pickle.. Examples include:

- someone leaving a bag of cocaine in Kremlin..Wow..Eventually blame the flavour of the month = Prighozin..

- UFO sighting over Russia..Military has to be clearly instructed beforehand to paint over all plane identifications when they do this..

- blow up a church, blame Zelensky, to radicalize the moderates.. This plot has been shamelessly stolen from movie Four Lions. If you haven't seen this movie, consider your education to be far from complete

- activate a volcano in Kamchatka..If they can manipulate weather, surely a volcano is not a big deal if the cause is justified?

Could someone tell me, if there are homeless people hanging out and living on the streets of Moscow or any other major Russian city? Is it a big problem like here in the USA?

They gotta be. For all that the global shakeup is mostly benefitting Russia, Russia's domestic issues are increasingly not benefitting Russia.

And now, follow-up by the Russian economic spokes-bullshitter:
