This is why Ill always have such enormous respect for Ritter. He is the sort of guy you want to have covering your back in a tough situation. Real Marine Ritter. Marines mind their own fucking business when their buddies are in a bind. Since Ritter was an officer I can guarantee his enlisted subordinates had enormous respect for him. Hes the kind of leader who might help a little when its safe to do so. I admire Ritter for the same reason I admire Trump. When Trumps supporters were jailed under shady pretext Trump held his silence and let a totally impartial justice system sort everything out. No need for drama.

Ritter is proof that America sometimes does send their best. Thanks for this profile in courage Riley.

I wonder if his predilection for minors was started in the Corps or after when he went on to distinguish himself working for the UN.

Not sure if this was just a move to destroy his reputation. Afaik guy contacted a 15y old female online for sex, and she was a bait from some spook agency.

So we are talking a young woman here, not a child. Totally different from a let's say 10y old. But this is just from memory. I could be wrong here.

Age of consent (with limits) here in Germany is 14, without limits it's 16. Same in most European countries.

i find it refreshing that he was interested in underage girls, not boys like most deep state creatures. that makes him one of the good one!

Did you actually understand what i wrote or is this just some blindly targeted sarcasm?

However Ritter is an American. It's rather taboo to lust after the youngins under 18. To me it's more about poor judgement. Dunno what was said and I don't care. He had his passport seized and he's crying about it while some poor Russian bureaucrat has literally had his life destroyed because someone higher up in the chain wanted his protege in the spot, no doubt so the contracts would flow where the krisha wants them.

Full acc about the original topic. Of course it's pure totalitarism.

Was there any reason for seizing his passport? Probably not.

I live in the U.S. I, like many a disaffected patriot here, once took great stock in the analysis Scott Ritter provided regarding the essential spirit of the Russian government and its people as a whole. What a fool I was. I wish I was better at catching all of the inconsistencies in the narratives of these panjandrums on my own, without having to rely upon the astute observations made by others such as Riley and Rolo. Oh, well. I am grateful for their work. Thank you, gentlemen.

I think it a mistake to no longer listen to Ritter. His insights are outstanding. He has his opinions which may or may not agree with your's -- doesn't matter. You are free to examine his points and pick and choose which you believe.

The other option is to just pretend the Jeff Bezos WaPo is always truthful.

Perhaps it's because of Scott's affinity for cheese pizza?

That's a despicably low blow. Scott was targeted by the Spooky-Police State, because he embarrassed them.

There's zero to support what you just alleged. If there were - CBP would have had HIM in their hands - not just his passport.

Expand full comment

Lol not a low blow; Ritter worked for the UN. Peacekeepers are notorious for their "tastes."

Expand full comment

He was a UN Weapons Inspector, after being a US Weapons Inspector under the START/INF treaties regimes.

He pushed back against the Imperial claims of WMDs and the NeoCon drives to attack Iraq.

Thenceforth he was set-up, in an adults only chat room, by a Cop. It's a way of smearing opponents of the Imperial push for war.

He was NEVER a "UN Peacekeeper" - as wrongly suggested. And even then, you would be painting with a broadbrush, and implying guilt by association.

Expand full comment

He worked for the UN and was no doubt accompanied by Peacekeepers. You can say he was "set up" but why was he in a chat room? What exactly was he looking for? Not my fault he's some midwit looking to get his rocks off and never saw an episode of "To Catch a Predator." I'm well aware of his role in Iraq. My question is why don't you realize he was someone's intelligence tool? Embracing the MoD narrative rather than the stark truth of Russians actually involved in the Special Needs Operation is the tell. Cabal has no issue burning assets when it furthers the narrative. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes

Expand full comment

"no doubt accompanied by Peacekeepers" - is where you start the bullshit... And it only gets better from there... There were 0 UN Peacekeepers in Iraq, when Scott was working there. It's at best a baseless assumption - at worst ,a LIE.

ADULTS in America are allowed to go online and do any number of legal activities, in adults-only chatrooms. Scott was targeted by a Cop. No minors were involved. I'm not here to defend whatever he was doing (he has a wife and at least one kid), and he seems to own up to that part of it.

What I can't figure out is what YOUR INTEREST is - in dishonestly embellishing on a transparent LAWFARE attack, with stories from your imagination.

The rest of your bullshit isn't really intelligible. If you want to understand why Russia was drawn into Ukraine - read the RAND Corporation's 2019 (publicly available) report on Overextending and Unbalancing Russia. Additional reading that explains the NATO (Cabal) Empire's plans can be found in Zbigniew Brzezinski's mid 1990's (publicly available) blueprint, called "The Grand Chessboard". If you need evidence of US support for Ukrainian Nazis, in Ukraine and in diaspora - look up "Project AERODYNAMIC" or PROLOG (PROLOGUE?). These functioned in complementary fashion with OPERATION PAPERCLIP and OVERCAST.

If you need further evidence - look up Chrystia Freedland's family tree - or her and the entire Canadian Parliament lauding Waffen SS War Criminal Jaroslav Hunka, not too long ago.

Lol, I'm sorry that you understand nothing about Ukraine or that it's all a managed stage. Is Putin your savior? Zanon for the win? Bullshit? Who is smoking the copium here?

I assume you embrace the denazifying narrative which your rather incoherent response indicates. Those Nazis were so bad that Putin made sure his good friend Roman Abramovitch flew them back to Ukraine from Turkey on a private charter complete with Tiramisu.

Russia is a massive kleptocracy. You do know that Russian troops have to buy their own gear otherwise they're given substandard shit. Shoigu sold off all of the good stuff.

Putin is stage managed by his krisha Gref, Soloviev, and the Gazprom guy iirc. Attrition is the last strategy of a desparate combatant. True Nationalism is crushed in Russia. Have you seen any of the articles about the Great Russian Replacement? Globohomo is ruling all and you're acting like this shit is real. But hey those patriotic Russians are dying on the Frontline for what exactly?

Yes. I recall this dust-up at the time. And far from Sim's assertions - at the "Rage Against The War Machine" Rally - it was an internal fight amongst the Libertarians (who organized it), that had him going on and off (and on, again?) from their list of invited speakers. CODEPINK and PSL helped sabotage any organized left participation - by accusing Jackson Hinkle of being "transphobic" (meaning he opposes the sterilization and genital mutilation of minors, and the societal "grooming" that leads up to that). So Medea Benjamin could attend - but the staff of the organization that she started, wouldn't let her speak. It was all very STUPID and counter-productive.

Thanks for the link and for the support.

"Court records will show that there was an online incident that occurred between myself and a police officer posing as an adult female in an adults-only chat room on February 9, 2009.

I'm afraid there are even more questions left unanswered.

1) Taking someone's passport does not prevent them from leaving the United States. It simply makes it really difficult to ENTER a country (whether that's Turkey or returning to the USA). Furthermore, it's only legal to stop an American citizen from leaving the United States when that person is being ARRESTED. There's no indication that Ritter was arrested.

1b) There are several court cases where an American citizen had their passport seized, and then they were able to apply for a new one (and receive it). Why hasn't he tried to get a new one?

2) There are a limited number of circumstances in which the US can seize a passport. This mainly includes an arrest warrant or a judicial ruling (including for cases of unpaid taxes) - did Ritter ever get charged with a crime? Was he shown a ruling from a judge ordering the seizure of his passport? You can't just walk up to someone and snatch a passport out of their hand "just because".

2b) Technically speaking, the passport is property of the federal government. Which means that only the federal government can seize it, and then (again) they have to have a reason for doing so. Btw "seize" is a legal term meaning "take it and not give it back" - not talking about a cop/border agent/etc taking it from your hands to examine it for a while or something like that. There HAS to be some kind of paperwork involving this kind of seizure, so why isn't Ritter providing details?

3) Seems far more likely that the "seizing my passport" story is total BS and that what really happened was he got a phone call/tip off from a spook and so VOLUNTARILY abandoned his plan to go to Russia (for whatever unknown reason) and just decided to make some hay from "boo hoo big bad American gov't stole my p-port."

I think you’re right we have no proof of the seizure and Ritter is a notorious liar.

Great column, Riley. I feel bad for the Russian guy. He got himself all lined with a shady tool and ended up in jail. This column dovetails nicely with yours and Rurik's assertions that it's all fake and the Kremlin is performing Kabuki theater with their Western partners. Meanwhile good Slavic men are slaughtered on both sides for reasons.

If you get into the weeds it can ideed look all-fake, but as someone who watches from 30,000 feet, since 25 years, the larger picture looks like Russian gangsters trying to play ball with 'western' gangsters until a tipping point was reached with NATO expansion.

There are large currents that indicate general direction, and if you get caught up in the eddies, you get spun around and can't see the overall direction.

Chaos theory, phase changes, etc.

My 2 cents on this. The fact that Scott Ritter was prevented from boarding a plane to Moscow and his host in Russia arrested at the same time is not a coincidence. It may suggest coordination of US and Russian intelligence agencies or it could be an effort on the part of Ukraine to present Scott’s Tour of Duty in Russia as some sort of intelligence sharing/gathering operation.

That makes up many of Edward's 10,000 unstated questions! What? Why? And even: How?

I think we sometimes make the error of seeing monopolistic coordination where there is actually a web of actors and interests, which are only semi-coordinated.

Every few months or so Putin comes out saying he is open for talks, which is a clear signal of a weak man trying to end his bumbling invasion of Ukraine. He even said that Russia is losing around 2000 men per week and the Russian offensives are getting nowhere.

The Russian MOD estimate of Ukrainian losses is currently around 2,000 a *day*.

Maybe if he counts the militias from Donbas and Lughansk as Ukrainians... but then it still would be too high. That would be like 5 like Ukrainian divisions or 15 brigades destroyed a month, even if this was a real number then the Russians would be steamrolling through Ukrainian lines and you can see it on the warmap. And when i look at the map the Chasiv yar/Kharkov offensives are out of steam and not going anywhere for weeks now.

"Ritter: No, you weren’t. Actually, you weren’t with me because I made a phone call to you earlier in the morning recommending that you not travel to Russia. And it had nothing to do with what happened to me and everything to do with what happened to our sponsor, Alexander Zyryanov, who from my standpoint tragically was placed under arrest in Novosibirsk on his way to St. Petersburg."

I remember seeing that Judge Napolitano interview and was surprised the younger Russian who appeared with Ritter on several YouTube videos during his previous trips to Russia was his sponsor and was arrested.

Ritter, must've been secretly relieved that he was unable to make the trip as his safety could've been in jeopardy after his "Moneybag sponsor" was detained by the police. Interesting how internecine political skirmishes use the justice system to punish rivals.

Ironically, this is a Stalinist political technique which found its way into Western court systems.

There are many Russophiles out there, including me. Being a Russophile does not mean "wants to suck Putin dick", and I really wish this inane association were not a main factor in most related comment threads or headlines.

But then, there are manty who believe it is possible for nitwits of the caliber on display to run a global empire.

Good coverage of an issue that still has a lot of unanswered questions. It's quite possible that Ritter is holding his tongue at his friend's request, or because he has been advised by those in the know that he cannot make things better but might surely make them worse. As is said somewhere in that coverage, this may be some internal political issue that needs to sort itself out without making it an international crisis.

Slavsquat! Do you really think there is justice in the USofSatan? "Cmon, please. This has run the 24/7 news cycle. No longer an issue. Personally, WTF really thinks they were going to give Ritter this huge platform at the SPIEF? NEVER! He's lucky all he lost was his passport! In fact, they really put him in prison! Without a passport he can not even get out to claim political asylum! They are no longer concerned with what he says or does. I'm tired of people appealing to the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. They no longer exist. BOOM, gone a long time ago while Murikkans sleep. Everyone is consumed with diaper wearing Biden or the Orange Man. Disgusting and tragic. Game over for Murikka.

I like about Edward that he's always trying to be fair, so here, he points out that it's not ok for a govt to take someone's passport, just because that someone is constantly contradicting himself (by that definition, no politician would be left with a passport). I'm not following this Ritter guy, the alt media I read have not brought him up in years I think, but as a human he should be able to move freely, just like his Russian handler or whoever. It is a common tactic for governments to introduce unpopular restrictions for unpopular characters first, so they claim he or whoever is spreading misinformation, then take his passport, block it if it's a digital id, close his bank account (still happening today) - but don't worry, those who agree with the government will keep their money and basic human rights.

Other than that, I'm not commenting on this case as I don't care for this guy, don't know him, there's tons of material to read from other journalists, historians etc. who explain the conflict well.

It certainly does look like FSB/State Dept coordination. I'm wondering if the Chabad Lubavitch types ordered all of this. Perhaps they want nothing to interfere with their WW3 agenda. At the end of the day they have a nice operation of goyim death going on with more death on the way.
