Dear Edward, it is such a joy to read your work, your humor mixed with facts is refreshing and uplifting, in a humor of yes, we all are in this together. I have a dream, an imagining, some day, when this world ceases as we know it, (hopefully soon) we all get to meet in that space of freedom and love. No countries, no wars, no inhumane treatment, just those of us who can still love, and never harm..see you there..❤️
Your writings are so amusing and interesting to read, they seem to have almost an adictionary effect on me: every time I finished reading an Edward-piece, I want to read more more more Edward, and nothing else.
I am the only Edward-addict or are there more people experiencing this 'effect'?
If you’re visiting Russia, bring a big wad of cash! Foreign Visa, Mastercard, etc., do not work at all. Local banks will exchange dollars and other currencies at reasonable rates, but don’t use Sber because their currency spread sucks. Also, Gref sucks.
I'm not worried about prices, its more logistics! Getting a visa and mir card and stuff is not straightforward. I would love to visit Tolstoy's village, but my understanding is that is far from anything.
Many Russian banks will open accounts and issue virtual debit cards for foreigners on tourist visas. The tourist visa isn’t straightforward but it’s not too bad either. Good luck!
The photos of the stone condo........I could feel that intense creativity. And it's there in the way you stacked the wood. Loved the picture of you beside the condo, wearing the tie and jacket, I thought a sign of respect for a force that would inspire building something like that.
You are an astounding sculptor! I can't believe my eyes!! Reminds me a bit of Andy Goldsworthy's work. I will never forget seeing his Storm King Wall. There are lots of his works on Google images.
"..anyone over the age of 60 probably has a worldview that is partly, or possibly entirely, shaped by state-controlled television. This is a great tragedy."
While the labyrinths of modern technology leave over 60's stuck with state-controlled media, despite daily propagandistic beatings their accumulated wealth of knowledge and experience is nearly impossible to overcome. This especially applies to people who went through a lot of hardship in their lives (ww2, cold war, poverty etc. ).
Despite what media says I am yet to meet over 60y old here in Eastern Europe who is on board with green madness, LGBT agenda, war hawkishness.. They keep their feet planted firmly on the ground - they realize simple truths like wind mills are laughably unreliable, there are not 1299 genders and you shouldn't run society on some relatively small exceptions, all you achieve is a destruction of a traditional family, that there always will be wars and it is better to continue buying cheap Russian gas etc.
It is actually the younger generations who despite their ease of access to a wealth of knowledge and information from various sources seem to embrace building their own guillotines..
Ty so much for making my Friday morning was pleasurable!
Am I giving myself away as a member of the illiterate class by asking about the Bach video? is that a thing, playing with your hands crossed? Is the young lady showing off? Or is she left handed?
It was lovely, regardless of how they pulled it off.
Not different here in Germany. Voting is just theatre. We have nothing to say. I've given up completely on that show. Corbett calls it slave suggestion box.
Thinking all that show-off Oligarchs are just executive producers for the real rich dynasties, Rothschild, Rockefeller... All them ugly creatures.
in the interviews video, there's a girl with glasses extremely intelligent that i would like to meet, one thing is sure, you dont see that level of analytical intelligence in any US camps, good to see that young generations can think for themselves in Russia and only that, alone, says a lot about the regime and the education system.
Despite all Botox’s faults, he did scrap VAT on gold, so it’s now possible for Russians to buy gold at a very reasonable price, and even open gold-denominated savings accounts.
Thank you Edward. I have travelled a lot, and Russia was the best place I have ever been (or for my monitors reading - definitely not been) and I would eagerly go back (or not). The cities were beautiful and clean and the countryside was peaceful, but the driving was scary (so I've heard).
Thanks very much for that -- was most interesting to read.

It appeared to getting worse in time too;-)
Thank you so much for you answers! and that woodpile is truly admirable :)
Thanks, Natalie. Me thinks that's not a woodpile, it is a sculpture.
A work of art for sure. I didn't even know you could stack wood like that.

Kinda jonesing to go honestly. Anytime the common wisdom (tm) says not to do something it seems like a winner. I want to climb Elbrus. Looks epic.
Go for it! If you’re from a Western country then you will find prices here reasonable if not downright cheap.
I've been to over 30 countries. Somehow missed the biggest!

Nice rocks. I am a fan of no mortar rock building too.
Thanks for you funny insights.
Stalin's principle was to punish the innocent, so everyone will be afraid.
It's been over nine years since I bought my small house in rural Kentucky. Couldn't imagine living in a city anymore.
so cool, very much appreciated, from the west coast of Canada
it's sounds like the common Russians are more free thinkers than the masses here in Canada
whom generally lack critical thinking and commonsense
FYI Pierre Poilievre has been selected and groomed as our next PM.
He will be placed at our upcoming election
it's been an unbelievable shit show here with justine trudope
elections here are just theatre,
just can't get rid of soros, his open societies (agent provocateur) and his dominion voting machines
anyways have a good day Edward :-)

Putin did ban 5G: geography, geostrategy, gastronomy, glasnost and gold

Cute humor!
Loved this!
