On June 4, a group of insufferable clot-shot fanatics met in St. Petersburg to discuss a pressing global health issue: the world has been blessed with “next-generation” vaccines, but how do we convince the Russian public that these unproven genetic slurries are safe and effective? Maybe we need “international cooperation solutions” to “accelerate this process”? Of course.
Their panel discussion, “Fighting Infections: Future Risks,” one of many enlightening conversations held during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), focused on the following topics:

How effective is the new Strategy for the Development of Immunoprophylaxis in Russia at addressing the aims of improving government policy in this sector, stimulating scientific development and clinical research, and increasing Russian public trust in and awareness of the positive effects of vaccination?
To recap: the curious arrival of COVID led to a “globally consolidated scientific search” for “effective infection prevention tools.” This global effort has created “safe and effective next-generation vaccines.” But can “international cooperation solutions” be harnessed to “accelerate” vaccination of the global population? And how can we “increase Russian public trust in the positive effects” of our totally unproven genetic goo?

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General, World Health Organization
Dr. T needs no introduction and we’re not going to bother typing out why it’s not a good sign that he was invited (via webcam, apparently) to join this talk. Let’s just say it’s highly unlikely Russia will be karate-chopping its membership in the WHO anytime soon. And that’s not good. That’s bad.
Kirill Dmitriev, Chief Executive Officer, Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF)
As head of Russia’s sovereign wealth fund, Dmitriev partnered with several companies, including Russian firm R-Pharm and British-Swedish pharma giant AstraZeneca, to develop safe and effective COVID medications and vaccines. In fact, the name “Sputnik V” was reportedly the brainchild of the World Economic Forum Young Global Leader (Class of 2009).
Kirill is a true whiz. The Soros Foundation spotted his potential at an early age and awarded him a scholarship to study in the United States (he attended Stanford University and Harvard Business School). He worked for Goldman Sachs and McKinsey & Company before taking the reins at RDIF in 2011.
Dmitriev’s fund is the main financer behind Sputnik V. Although he insists Russia’s vaccine has no equal, he has advocated for the creation of a Sputnik V-AstraZeneca “cocktail.”
By the way: he’s open to mixing and matching all clot-shots. The man craves clot-shot cocktails.
It’s possible that maybe you’ve seen Dmitriev yapping away on CNBC or some other horrible teevee network. Don’t be alarmed! He is the western-friendly face of Sputnik V and has authored highly imaginative op-eds touting his miracle serum to disaffected westerners.
Mikhail Murashko, Minister of Health of the Russian Federation
Mikhail Murashko is a Russian minister in charge of organizing and carrying out state-sponsored health-destruction. He is also a member of the World Health Organization’s Executive Board. Fancy that.
Murashko compared digital cattle tags to a new “clothing style” like bellbottoms or Ugg boots. As in, he thinks you should stop complaining and get tagged already.

Anna Popova, Head of the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing - Chief State Sanitary Physician of the Russian Federation
Look into Anna’s eyes. Are those the kind of eyes that would try (but ultimately fail) to preemptively shut down various school activities until 2024 (!) because of the Dreaded Virus? Yes. She is completely and utterly dead inside.
Here’s what you need to know about Popova: she is either entirely or semi-responsible for every Virus-related atrocity in Russia.
Her agency for “human wellbeing” dictates mask rules and mandatory clot-shot decrees to Russia’s regions. You want to drop your (unenforceable) mask regime? You better ask Popova if she would be okay with that.
When Moscow became the first region in Russia to introduce compulsory vaccination in June 2021, Popova hailed the coercive medical intervention as a “new tool” that could be used to “stop the spread.” Because she’s a sociopath.
Recently Popova’s been busy creating monkeypox PCR tests and even somehow managed to register a new genetic shot in under a month.
As Russia’s Chief State Sanitary Physician, she also plays a central role in the country’s permanent biosecurity theater, “Sanitary Shield.”
Kommersant recently shared a fun anecdote about Anna. According to reports, she was walking around without a mask at SPIEF (naughty!) but then hurriedly put on a face diaper when she was in a journalist-heavy zone:
Despite the requirements of Rospotrebnadzor and Roscongress to wear masks on the territory of SPIEF-2022, no one in the hall, except for Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko, obeyed these requirements. That is, only those who lobbied for them obeyed the rules … And so the head of Rospotrebnadzor, Anna Popova, entered the hall, looked around and put on a mask, confirming this rule. And also one more thing: there are a minimum of journalists in the corridor, and a maximum in the hall.

Alexey Repik, Chairman, Delovaya Rossiya (Business Russia); Chairman of the Board, Group R-Pharm
Repik’s R-Pharm has been one of the top beneficiaries of the pandemic in Russia. When the Dreaded Virus arrived in early 2020, Repik sold the Russian government tasty HIV pills. Then he produced Remdesivir for the Russian market, because honestly why not?
But the biggest scam-feather in Repik’s cap is undoubtedly his close collaboration with AstraZeneca. In July 2020, AstraZeneca announced R-Pharm would become “one of the hubs for the production and supply of [its] vaccine to international markets.”
Under the agreement, the British-Swedish pharmaceutical giant agreed to transfer its adenoviral vector to Russia. R-Pharm would then be tasked with “finishing” doses and shipping them abroad.
AstraZeneca and R-Pharm and best friends. When the pair teamed up with RDIF to begin clot-shot cooperation in December 2020, AstraZeneca CEO Pascal Soriot beamed:
In Russia we have a long-lasting partnership with R-Pharm, and we are good friends with Alexey [Repik] and the R-Pharm team. We decided to transfer the technology to R-Pharm because of the advanced technology core and biopharmaceutical capabilities in Russia. They have developed these capabilities over a number of years, and more recently, importantly, with the support of the Russian Direct Investment Fund. This is another good example of collaboration between organisations and companies.
AstraZeneca, RDIF, R-Pharm and the Gamaleya Center: It’s one big happy family. A family committed to your health and longevity.
Yuli Edelstein, Former Minister of Health of the State of Israel
Ukrainian by birth, Yuli did his Aliyah in 1987 and soon rocketed to the top of Israeli politics. A Likud veteran, he served as speaker of the Knesset for seven years (2013-2020) before becoming health minister. He left his post in June 2021, but not before shilling a whole lot of Pfizer clot-shots.
As the Financial Times documented in January 2021, Edelstein played a critical role in Israel’s clot-shot hoarding strategy. Thanks to his valiant efforts, no Israeli was deprived of the honor of being injected with Pfizer juice.
Yuli generously agreed to share vax data with Pfizer as part of the “special deal” to give Israel first dibs on the company’s clot-shot:
“What we promised them, and we do keep the promises you can see, that if we get the vaccine, we’ll be very efficient," said Edelstein. "We’ll vaccinate big numbers of the Israeli population, a huge proportion of the Israeli population very soon. And Pfizer will be able to see how it influences the level of disease in Israel, the possibility to open the economy, different aspects of social life, whether there are any effects of the vaccination.”
How deep does the Yuli vax hole go? We are afraid to look, actually.
Deborah Waterhouse, Chief Executive Officer, ViiV Healthcare, member of Corporate Executive Team, GSK
Some media reports have claimed that no western businesspeople participated in this year’s SPIEF. Guys, how could you forget Deborah?
To be perfectly honest we don’t understand why this particular GlaxoSmithKline executive was invited to participate in this particular panel. Obviously it’s because she is an executive who works for a Big Pharma firm that produces vaccines in Russia, but why Deborah, specifically?
We’ll have to do more snooping and return to this question at a later time. For now, you can rest easy knowing this world-renowned British pharmaceutical firm is developing its own line of clot-shots:
In addition to our work on adjuvanted vaccines, we are working with CureVac to develop mRNA vaccines potentially effective against multiple COVID-19 variants. We announced encouraging pre-clinical test results in 2021 with clinical testing to begin in 2022.
This agreement builds on the existing relationship between GSK and CureVac to develop up to five mRNA-based vaccines and monoclonal antibodies. We have also made a £130m equity investment in CureVac.
Maybe once this new slurry is ready it’ll be produced in Russia? Fingers crossed.
Alexander Gintsburg, Director, National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology named after the honorary academician N.F. Gamaleya of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation
Sputnik V Papa Bear Alexander Gintsburg is one of the most respected and highly accomplished scientists in recorded human history.
Here is a lovely science comment he made today, on June 20:
Gintsburg added that the only way to solve all the problems associated with COVID-19 is the introduction of the Sputnik V vaccine into the national vaccination schedule.
“At the legislative level, this will mean that the entire population, as in Soviet times, must be vaccinated without fail. Moreover, the Gamaleya Institute has created a vaccine for all population groups, with the exception of children aged 0-6 so far… If these trials are funded sooner, we will sooner give this vaccine to the 0-6 year old population. And then the whole range of people will have a vaccine with which to protect, within the national immunization schedule,” he emphasized.
Nice guy.
What a cast of characters! This is whom we are up against, be we Russians, Ukrainians, Americans, Chinese, people of Europe's NATO nations, the rest of the world. We need to unite over this, because they are, and in the meantime they keep us divided.
Hi Riley: something I don't understand at all. We saw that Russian population rejected firmly the use of QR codes, and most of us admire this russian characteristic. But they seem totally submitted to their leader: so I have a (maybe naive) question: they are not going out onto the streets against their government because they are not aware of the high degree of corruption of Putin, or because they fear a bloody repression?
