Thanks for bringing this topic up, Riley. Besides SMO and the situation at the Ukrainian front this is the most widely discussed issue today in Russian politics. Russian authorities continue driving globalist agenda on many fronts and UBS (curiously, in Russia it is abbreviated sometimes to 4 letters - ЕБИС that sounds a lot like F*CK in Russian) is only one of those areas. We'll see how Russian Senate (Federation Council) will act in this regard and if Putin will sign this bill. His popularity has dropped significantly this year and notably not because he started the hot phase of the war in Ukraine (many were against it, but many understood this was a matter of time), but because of the way the war is conducted where to this day civilians in Donetsk and Russian cities like Belgorod are shelled and killed daily, because Russia leaves to enemy huge territories without fighting to favor "Grain deals" and interests of oligarchs, because left bank of Dniepr river part of Ukraine is not cut off from the right bank to prevent Western ammunition and arms supplies coming to the front, because Zelensky and the key people in Ukraine that authorize terror attacks across the board got emboldened enough in their impunity to visit the front line with no fear of being attacked there or in Kiev. So, Putin is less popular today. Official polling agencies put his popularity at above 80%, but listening to the "noise", e.g. what people say on social platforms it appears that his popularity is in the range of 40%. Negative assessments by Russians ot Putin ability to manage the situation have increased significantly in my observation. Will he decide to further sacrifice his popularity and sign a very unpopular bill or is he going to follow the main line of his real bosses remains to be a question. In my view the general pattern of behavior by authorities in Russia and elsewhere today is to totally disregard public opinion, so I think he is going to sign the bill.
As for the Russia's chance to save the world from the Globalism. This was never about Russia's government or their "elites" that emerged in the late 80's and now occupy every niche in banking and profiteering from selling of natural resources of Russia. These people were always "second grade" in their way of thinking and never thought of Russia as of the place where their kids and grandkids would have to live. Russia's chance to save the world from the globalist powers was always in Russian people. Taking COVID craziness as an example. Just think, is there any other major country where population as a whole largely refused the unnecessary and even harmful jabs? According to CDC in US 87% of the population is "fully vaccinated". In Russia despite the pressures on the people to get jabbed by denying right to work and by extension to eat, only 54% have this status and out of them probably 30% got the vaccination certificate but not the vaccine. The world is going to have a chance to avoid catastrophe if people of Russia are going to rise up and succeed at overthrowing the current system. Chances of that are pretty slim, but in today's world we are witnessing events unthinkable of only 3 years ago.
The modern definition of "voluntary" seems to have taken hold around the world. Here in the US, for example, it is not unusual to see signs at the entrance to various facilities (airports, nuclear stations, government facilities) stating that consent to search is "voluntary" but that you will be denied entrance if you refuse.
A few years ago a new bankruptcy law was submitted to the Dutch parliament. It was widely rejected. Then the corporations showed their muscle, and all parliamentarians immediately dropped to their knees begging the corporations for forgiveness, and voted for what they rejected a few weeks earlier. The corporate lawyers were openly making fun of parliament, saying they didn't understand anything.
It's sad but true. There are no longer subject matter experts in parliament, or even people who understand law making in general. Parliamentarians are themselves cattle.
Riley, you have failed to understand what esteemed commentators like Matt Ehret, Vanessa Beeley and Pepe Escobar point out: no matter how bad what's going on in Russia may look like, at least the Great Reset technocrats are not getting their way, and don't let your senses fool you.
