Please stop being naive, this is not some charming dacha of a good citizen Edward. American citizen Edward is an American sleeper agent who was supposed sit on his hands in an old safe house in Russia, await further instruction. Unfortunately a local homebrew was stronger than his resolve to serve United States and he posted publicly these pictures, ruining the Sunday barbecue of his handler Bob in Pentagon. Expect some Jason Bourne level car chase soon..
The Sun King himself would be jealous! 😃 You are going to have such fun. Once I've scraped together enough carbon credits and get the go-ahead from King Bill to have my bi-decade-al plane trip in the cargo hold with King Bill's luggage, I'll be sure to head on straight over and come a-knocking!
Strangely, I also disinterred a rodent of unknown origin in my cellar during the Covid incarceration times. It had been there so long that a small wasp colony - long since departed - had constructed a nest in its still leathered skeletal remains. It was weirdly fascinating and beautiful, with these perfect little wasp cells sticking through the ribs. There was something deeply fitting to it all. Two sets of existences overlapping and now gone. So ephemeral.
What a great space! So much character and potential, including a dog. I wish we had those kind of opportunities here, where real estate prices are mental, even for bare land. Thanks for sharing, I can't wait to see what you do with your new home!
Is that a sewing machine in the pic? I'm noticing the colour scheme and wondering if the prperty once belonged to Ukrainian aristocracy at one time? More wood needed before winter sets in! A companion with 4 legs is good too.
I love the house, Riley, and your new buddy Nika. Seems like a good spot for Edward, Jr. to explore in her company. I look forward to hearing more about the village and your neighbors. Having heated with wood myself though, I agree with whoever wrote that you need more wood . . . probably LOTS more (I hope a dry supply is available nearby). Congratulations on escaping the city!
That's funny if I dug a tunnel in my basement I could end up in your house and think I dug a circle and ended up back up in my house, except for the paint job and the dog, to far out for dogs to survive the wolfs and coyotes. I have to go feed the Ravens,

...which explains the tunnel to the submersible in the lake.
Nika seems to be an adept handler.
this screams 'potential'!!
...screams hard, hard work.
That's some real-estate agent talk right there...
No offence. :-)
Architectural Digest, Novgorod division :)
I hope you also own a construction company, Edward...

Very welcoming Riley... though, you'll need much more wood for the harsh winter that's planned. chop! chop! 😁💪

Have you started drinking vodka?
It's a necessity.

Nika looks content. 🐶
This has cured me of country house-envy but I wish you well with the project.
love the colour scheme.
just need to replace the yellow with white and you're up to date with your flags, lol
You certainly know how to live the luxurious lifestyle.
be it ever so humble there's no place like home
